GM Sign-Up Checklist - Here's what you need to do...

Preliminaries

1. Have an RPG Geek Account. If you don't, simply Register (free). You will need this to post your game pitches to this thread as well as answer questions which might come up on your game (when we start player-sign-ups starting 20-Sep-2014).

2. Have a G+ Account. If you don't you can create one.

3. Join the RPGGeek G+ Community. The use of Google Hangouts is required for this event.

Pitch Your Game (do these steps for each game you are running)

1. Pick the Time Slot (see next post) when you will run your game and how long it will run (in 2 hour blocks... so your game can run 2,4,6 or 8 hours. We are limiting games to 8 hours max).
2. Select the Game System you are using (i.e. Shadowrun, D&D 5e, Pathfinder, FATE, etc.)
3. List the max number of players you will accept at your table (do not list a range - assume your table will fill).
4. List the experience needed to play - we're only using a binary system here. No Experience Needed and Some Experience Needed are the two choices.
5. Determine if your game will run "on-air". In this case, the game will be broadcast and saved on YouTube so that others can watch it (yes, even at a later date). On-Air games are, by default, 18+
6. Determine if your game will be open to anyone or if the game is 18+ (Mature/Adult).
7. Create a Description for your game. We need a short sentence to sum-up the game and a longer paragraph or three to share what your game will be about. Generally the more descriptive the quicker your table will fill... but don't go overboard. Soon you'll see plenty of examples below and you should follow their lead. Feel free to use images from our database.
8. Provide us your G+ username (if you don't feel comfortable posting this to a public thread, just geekmail me the username or send it via email to dave@rpggeek.com ... we need this as a point of contact on G+ Hangouts)
9. Post all this information below by replying to this post (allowing for the G+ username to be given via geekmail or email - see #8 directly above).

Recommended, but Optional:

1. Attend one of the Technical Testing Sessions to ensure your hardware setup will work as desired. Technical Testing Sessions will be coming online soon - and will be promoted via the RPGGeek G+ Community (among other social media networks and, of course, right here on RPG Geek).

Follow-up

1. In September (but not before), we will ask you to create your game on the +RPGGeek community. We want to get everything locked and loaded and cleaned up before we start listing the events on G+.
2. Promote your game (and VirtuaCon '14) through any social media venue you can think of. We have a number of awesome Virtuacon '14 Promo Images you are free to use. When linking back to Virtuacon, please use the master URL which is http://www.rpggeek.com/vc14
3. Generate Pregen Characters (Optional, as needed) for use during your game. Except for games where character generation is a big part of the interaction in the game, we recommend pre-gens be provided so as to get players into the game quickly.

Optional

1. Create a Roll20 Account to use for your games if virtual table-top mapping is required.
2. Verify that you can use Dice Stream or similar dice-rolling app within G+ Hangouts. It's also fine to allow players to roll actual dice using the honor system.

For those signing up, we've got some cool virtual swag:

 - Virtuacon '14 - Oct 10-12th, 2014 at RPG Geek!

 - Virtuacon '14 - Game Master

And look for the organizers by their green badge:

 - Virtuacon '14 - Event Staff

And, to sweeten the virtual pot, this year we are adding real virtual prizes (plus an oxymoron!) for each 2+ hour game that is run at our event. You can see the full list of prizes from our Virtuacon Prize Table.

Feel free to ask other questions below - don't be shy... we want to help! Signups will remain open (and you can edit your listings) until 15-Sep-2014.
